Sport Minister Olivia Grange said she was saddened by the death of team manager for the Reggae Girlz, Jean Nelson.
According to Ms Grange, Nelson has done so much for the development of women’s football in Jamaica.
Nelson was player, became president of Jamaica Women’s Football Association and worked to establish the women’s league.
The Minister said it was fitting that Nelson was right there with them when the Reggae Girlz made it to the finals of the FIFA World Cup in France in 2019.
