Prime Minister Andrew Holness says he is awaiting a report from the Health Ministry on the deaths that allegedly occurred as a result of an oxygen shortage at the end of August.

The allegations are that several persons who were suffering from Covid-19 and other respiratory conditions died at hospitals across the island, because they could not get critical oxygen.

Speaking during a tour of North East St. Andrew yesterday the Prime Minister said the deaths that have occurred from Covid are quite unfortunate.

He said he was following the situation closely, while noting that Jamaica is not the only country that would have had situations where its oxygen supplies were challenged.
