24 year old Sean Bennett who is charged in connection with beating death of his stepson, was remanded today (Tues) when he appeared in the St. Catherine Parish Court.
He is to return to court on July 29.
Bennett is charged with cruelty to a child, child abuse, unlawful wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
It is being alleged that on July 18, 4 year old Nashaun Brown complained of not feeling well and was eating a meal very slowly.
Bennett allegedly became angry and beat the child with a stick.
Nashaun became unresponsive and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
