Reggae Boyz Head Coach Theodore “Tappa” Whitmore is an optimistic mood, despite Jamaica suffering a 1-nil defeat to Costa Rica last night (Tues) in their final game of the group stage at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup in Orlando.

The Jamaicans who dominated their round of play, squandered numerous chances including Andre Gray whose shot hit the post in the 50th minute, before Costa Rican Captain Bryan Ruiz headed home from close range just three minutes late.

Costa Rica with the result topped Group C on maximum 9 points, with Jamaica second on 6.

The Jamaicans now move on to the quarter finals, where they face the United States, while Costa Rica oppose Canada.
