Opposition Spokesperson on Finance, Julian Robinson is reiterating his call for the removal of the General Consumption Tax, GCT, on digital devices to make them more affordable for students islandwide.
Mr. Robinson said he still believes that the removal of GCT on the devices is an action, that needs to be taken by the government.
He noted that many families have been seriously affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, and therefore, the removal of the tax will increase access to devices.
He was speaking during a forum hosted by the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, on Thursday.
