As global concern mounts about the spread of the Delta variant of the Coronavirus, Opposition Spokesman on Health, Dr. Morais Guy says the government should try to fast track the acquisition of equipment to begin testing in the country for the Delta variant.
The delta variant is highly infectious and cases have been increasing across the world.
The Health Ministry has indicated that it is making provisions to obtain equipment to test for the variant.
Dr. Guy says it is possible that the delta variant may already be in Jamaica and it is important that the government makes haste in procuring the equipment.
