The Health Ministry is advising that only elderly persons slated to get their second Covid vaccine during this weekend’s blitz, will be getting the jab.
Anyone below 50 years old will be told no, even if they are due a second shot when they turn up at vaccination sites.
Speaking at a COVID Conversations Press Briefing last evening (Thurs), Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton explained that due to vaccine availability issues, priority is being given to the most vulnerable.
Dr. Tufton further explained that persons who are due their second shot, but do not get it on the appointed date, should not worry as they have more time.
He added that persons who are seeking to get their first dose will be delayed.
