Agriculture Minister Floyd Green says the poultry sector has begun to see an increase in their production levels.
Two weeks after they were severely impacted by Hurricane Beryl in July, the country’s major poultry producers reported experiencing a downturn of up to 15 per cent with demand increasing to 30 per cent.
Concern over the shortage of chicken in the country prompted meetings between the Ministry and key stakeholders, who gave assurances that the chicken supply would be able to meet the demand after two weeks.
When asked for an update yesterday, Mr. Green said producers are seeing growth in their production levels.
He noted, however, that there are still concerns over the inventory levels of the poultry producers.
