The Independent Commission of Investigations -INDECOM- has launched a probe into the fatal shooting of a man by an an off-duty police Office on friday.
The incident occured on Irish Town Road, St Andrew.
Reports are that about 2:45 p.m., the officer was travelling along the roadway when two men allegedly stepped into the road and demanded money and his vehicle.
The Officer reported that at least one of the men was armed.
The policeman reportedly fired one shot from his service Glock pistol, drove off, and reported the matter to the Gordon Town Police.
According to INDECOM, no firearm was reported as retrieved at the scene.
