The programme which allows Cuban educators to operate in the country has been extended, with the signing of an agreement of cooperation between the Ministries of Education for Jamaica and Cuba.

Speaking at the signing ceremony this morning (May 26), Education Minister Fayval Williams noted that the agreement represents an extension of the bilateral cooperation in education between the two countries, for over 20 years.

She noted that since Jamaica and Cuba signed the first bilateral cooperation agreement in 1997, Jamaica has benefited significantly from professionals from varying fields who share their expertise when they come to the country.
