Veteran entertainer Beenie Man is expected to return to court today for sentencing, after pleading guilty on April 19 for breaching of the Disaster Risk Management Act, DRMA.

He was also charged with failing to obtain permission to hold the event, a breach of the Noise Abatement Act.

However, the artiste pleaded not guilty to that charge.

This, following an event in St. Elisabeth in November last year, when the deejay allegedly hosted an illegal party at a location in Shrewsbury district in the parish.

The Black River police turned up at the event, dispersed the crowd and warned Beenie Man for prosecution.

The government implemented the DRMA, in an effort to fight the spread of the coronavirus.
