Prime Minister Andrew Holness has expressed his satisfaction with the progress made on the Montego Bay perimeter road project in St. James.

On Wednesday, he led a group of government officials on a tour to evaluate the advancements of this significant infrastructure initiative.

Set for completion in 2026, the Montego Bay perimeter road project is anticipated to greatly improve the region's transportation network, bolster tourism, and create economic opportunities for local communities.

With a budget of US$274 million, the project is being carried out under a design-build contract between the government and China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC).

The National Road Operating and Constructing Company Limited (NROCC) is in charge of overseeing the project's execution.
