A top-level probe is now underway following the murder of 36-year-old Jermaine Bennett, a Police Constable in Gregory Park in St. Catherine last night.
Constable Bennett, who was assigned to the Kingston Central Division and also a resident of Gregory Park, St. Catherine, was shot dead by unknown assailants about 9:45 p.m.
Reports are that Bennett was visiting his child, when armed men entered the home and opened gunfire hitting him.
Bennett was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
