Scores of patrons attending an illegal party at premises on Slipe Pen Road in Kingston on Wednesday night, escaped arrest, after they complied with the police directive to disperse.
The members of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, conducted the raid between 7:30 and 8:30pm.
Police said the promoter was warned for prosecution under the Disaster Risk Management Act and the Noise Abatement Act.
The sound system was also seized.
A video of the incident on the JCF’s social media page showed hundreds of persons leaving the venue. They were not wearing masks.
Further, the COVID protocols dictate that the gathering limit is 10 not hundreds.
Police explained that under the Disaster Risk Management Act, once a citizen complies with the instructions, they cannot be prosecuted.
