Jamaican track and field athletes will get the chance to compete for the first time in almost a year after the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association JAAA got government approval to stage a series of meets starting this weekend.
The approval came from the Ministries of Health, Sports and Local Government.
This now clears the way for the JAAA to roll out its qualification series for juniors and seniors across the island with strict COVID-19 protocols in place. A series of six meets will be held across the island.
