A curfew is to implemented in Manchester as of this evening, as part of measures to contain the spread of Covid-19.
It will begin at 7pm and end at 5pm on Monday February 8.
Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton who made the announcement during a Covid-19 press conference this morning, said the enhanced COVID-19 measures followed the rapid increase in cases in the parish.
Dr. Tufton said Manchester has seen 125 new cases between January 10 & 24.
He said apart from the rise in positive cases, hospitalisation rates have also increased, prompting the ministry to take steps to prevent an overwhelming of hospitals in the region.
