Two promoters were on Sunday arrested and charged for hosting a party in Trelawny in breach of the Disaster Risk Management Act.
Taxi operator 38 year old Donovan Mendez, otherwise called Zippy and 28-year-old farmer Rushane McFarlane of Rocky Spring in Trelawny were charged with breaching the Noise Abatement Act and the Disaster Risk Management Act.
The Wait-A-Bit police reported that about 5:00 p.m., a team of officers went to a location called City and observed more than 800 people partying.
The promoters were reportedly instructed to end the event and warned for prosecution.
The police revisited the location after 10:00 p.m. and found the party still in progress.
Mr. Mendez and Mr. McFarlane were subsequently arrested and charged.
