After returning after its two-year hiatus the 90-minute virtual ceremony, branded as the UK’s biggest celebration of black music and culture took place yesterday 2 p.m. Jamaica time on YouTube.

With Jamaican artistes such Koffee, Popcaan and Shenseea scoring nominations in
the International category along with Buju Banton, Popcaan, Koffee, Protoje and
Lila Iké being nominated for the reggae category.

Unfortunately we only won in one of the categories, Best reggae act went to Buju
Banton who took to social media with this message, “I thank the MOBO award
committee, but most of all I thank everyone who has supported me and continues to support me. Let’s continue to allow music to do its job as the great healer, teacher, comforter and above all the restorative force that propels human beings to higher heights”.

Dancehall artiste Stylo G closed out the show with a stellar performance.
