Jamaica’s reigning Olympic double sprint champion Elaine Thompson-Herah will seek to land her first World Female Athlete of the Year Award when she goes up against four other finalists for the 2020 accolade to be announced on today.

Thompson-Herah went undefeated in seven 100 metre races during the year and also ran a world-leading 10.85 seconds over the distance.
She will seek to break a seven year drought for Jamaican female athletes with Merlene Ottey having won it in 1990 and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in 2013.
