Reggae icon Toots Hibbert has been finally laid to rest at National Heroes’ Park, in
an area reserved for cultural icons, it is said that he will be buried next to another
reggae icon Dennis Brown.
Following his burial at 3:00 PM, a tribute concert was held later, which was shown
live on PBCJ, YouTube and Facebook. Several top entertainers like Gramps
Morgan, Chris Martin, Marcia Griffiths and Romain Virgo just to name a few, were apart of the performance line up concert, titled ‘Toots: Farewell to a Cultural Icon.
Tribute was paid to the icon in the form of testimonials and others performing their
favorite Toots song. Toots died on September 11 at the University Hospital of the
West Indies in following a brief illness, he was 77 years old.
