A man who returned to Canada from Jamaica has been hit with a hefty fine after breaching the Quarantine Act.

Provincial police say the man, who is a resident of French River in Ontario, was charged after he allegedly failed to quarantine.
They say the 67-year-old did not abide by the mandatory two-week quarantine period.
He was fined $1,255 Canadian under the Quarantine Act.
The act requires anyone entering Canada by air, land or sea to isolate for two weeks if they have symptoms of COVID-19, or to quarantine for the same period if they are asymptomatic.
