Legal submissions seeking to have the criminal case brought against former Education Minister Ruel Reid and President of the Caribbean Maritime University CMU Fritz Pinnock thrown out, will continue today in the corporate area parish court.
Parish judge Chester Crooks is hearing the submissions.
The accused are asking the court to free them because officers from the Financial Investigations Division, did not have the authority to arrest and charge them.
Attorney-At-Law Hugh Wildman will continue to make submissions, when the hearing resumes today.
The other accused are Reid’s wife Sharon, their daughter Sharelle and Brown’s Town Division Councillor Kim Brown Lawrence.
The five are facing charges in relation to a fraud and corruption investigation at the CMU.
