Friday’s shooting at the Mandeville market which left 2 people dead, and five others wounded is being linked tp ‘overseas players.’
The Manchester police also believe they are involved in several recent gun attacks in the parish.
The deceased are Nathaniel Bradford, otherwise called ‘Andre’ and 30-year-old practical nurse Melissa Merchant.
Head of the division, Deputy Superintendent Carey Duncan said the police are following strong leads in the investigation of Friday’s gun attack.
He noted that persons from other parishes may also have been involved in the shooting.
DSP Duncan confirmed that Bradford was the target of the attack while noting that several recent shootings in the parish, were reprisals.
In response to the recent gun attacks, the police launched a public order initiative dubbed “Operation Restore”, on Monday morning.
Entertainment and other activities have also been curtailed in the parish, as police work to restore order.
