Jamaica recorded four more COVID-19 related deaths on Sunday, bringing the country’s fatality figure to 192.
There have now been 8,749 infections since the first case was confirmed on March 10, with 35 new confirmations coming on Sunday as well.
Among those infected, 4,303 have now recovered, while 4,139 remain active cases.
The Corporate Area (Kingston & St. Andrew) accounts for 12 of the latest infections. That brings to 3,123 the number of people infected in the largest population centre in the country.
The western Jamaica parish of St. James registered nine of the latest infections, followed by Hanover and Westmoreland, each with four, Clarendon and St. Ann with two each.
The parishes of St. Catherine and St. Mary reported only one each, while all other parishes reported no new infection.
