OUR Says JPS Probe Mostly Complete


The Office of Utilities Regulation, OUR, says it has completed critical aspects of its investigation into customer complaints of high billing by the Jamaica Public Service Company Limited JPS.

The OUR launched its investigation following increased JPS customer complaints about the alleged high electricity consumption/bills following the March to April 2020  billing cycle.

The OUR said in light of the general findings, it has determined that an independent audit of JPS’ billing system is not needed at this point.


However, as a further extension to its investigation, the OUR said it will be proceeding to address a number of other issues identified in its investigation.
