The National Parent-Teacher Association of Jamaica, NPTAJ is not in support of the physical reopening of schools before 2021.
The Education Ministry has indicated a blended approach to learning for the new school term which will feature both in-class and online teaching and a phased re-opening of schools starting October 5.
However, Interim President of the NPTAJ Mitsie Harris-Dillon points to the community spread of Covid-19 with high numbers of positive cases and up to to 7 deaths each day.
Yesterday, the total number of Covid-19 cases was 4,988.
