Early this morning the singer took to social media to issue a statement on her good friend Ellen, amid the allegations of a “toxic” work environment behind the scenes of the popular daytime talk show, The Ellen Show.
She wrote, “I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen on the Ellen Show. I think we all have witnessed the light and continual fight for equality that she has brought.
Ellen did apologize for the atmosphere on set in a letter to staffers and vowed that she is “committed to ensuring this does not happen again”. However, an internal investigation into racism and bullying has been launched. To make matters worse, show staffers have also come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct among the show’s top executives.
