Tekashi has officially completed his house arrest and is now a free man. The controversial rapper whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, posted on his Instagram Sunday afternoon, “I’m free, I’ll be in my city outside” while announcing an Instagram live session.

Tekashi was granted house arrest to serve his last 4 months of his two-year sentence at an undisclosed location out of concern for the rapper, who has asthma and would be at risk for the coronavirus in federal prison.

His lawyer Lance Lazzaro confirmed to USA TODAY that Hernandez has finished his home confinement and shot a music video for a song filled with expletives referencing the female genitalia in Brooklyn on Sunday.

The new track samples dancehall artist Left side’s 2010 hit “Phat (bleep bleep)’. Leftside real name ‘Craig Parks, in sharing how he feels about his music being sampled, said it has given him a boost of confidence about his work. He added that everything was done above board and permission was sought for the use of the track.

Meanwhile, although Tekashi will be free to do whatever he wants, sources close to the rapper says he will still be keeping a low profile, since some people may still be out to get him for snitching on his crew.
