Rihanna’s father is under scrutiny for comments he made about contracting coronavirus.
During a recent interview with UK tabloid The Sun, Ronald Fenty claims that his superstar daughter sent him a ventilator after he tested positive for COVID-19.
However, a source close to Rihanna disputes the story, telling the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, “He doesn’t need a ventilator, and she didn’t send him one.”
The 66-year-old spoke with the paper from his Barbados home after reportedly spending 14 days in an isolation center. He urged others to stay at home to prevent the virus from spreading, while praising Rihanna for shipping him a ventilator “that he hadn’t used yet.”
The source for Page Six says Rihanna was not aware of her father’s COVID-19 diagnosis and is not happy with the story.
Meanwhile, the singer has been doing all she can to aid in coronavirus relief efforts.
She has donated millions to various organizations through her Clara Lionel Foundation and provided over $700,000 worth of ventilators to her home country of Barbados.
