Hollywood director was sentenced to 23 years earlier today March 11 for raping a woman and sexually assaulting another.
Harvey was found guilty of a first degree criminal sex act in 2006 and third degree rape in 2013, which sparked the, “me too” movement.
The sentences will run consecutively and both come with five years of supervision after release.
Weinstein who showed up to court this morning in a wheel chair, will be held at Rikers Island until he is deemed ready to be transferred to the custody of the state’s corrections department after which he will be incarcerated in a state prison facility.
Miriam Haley who was one of Harvey’s accusers, spoke with “CBS This Morning” at the end of the trial, said hearing the guilty verdict was a “Huge relief.”
