The National Water Commission, NWC says it is monitoring a situation with COVID-19 to determine if its necessary to adjust the water restrictions in the corporate area.

Corporate Public Relations Manager at the Commission, Andrew Cannon says the Commission remains on high alert to deal with any challenge associated with the coronavirus outbreak.

He notes however that NWC has been cognisant of the fact the country is not yet in the height of the drought period and the storage levels are not where they need to be, specifically with reference to the Mona Reservoir and Hermitage Dam.

He says with COVID-19 now confirmed in Jamaica, the Commission needs to be even more careful with the management of existing water resources.
