The National Water Commission NWC says as of today, water supply to areas served by the Mona Treatment and Hope Filter plants in Kingston, will be suspended nightly from 8:00pm until 5:00am the next day.

The Commission says with current storage levels at the Mona Reservoir now at 67.6 percent and the forecast for continued dry periods, the adjusted regulations are necessary to safeguard water supply throughout the coming months.

Close to 30 communities will be impacted.

Among them August Town, Mona Heights, Downtown Kingston, sections of New Kingston and Half-Way-Tree, Beverly Hills and Maxfield Avenue.

The NWC says customers in the affected areas are to store water for use during the period of disruption.
