Chairman of the Caribbean Community, CARICOM, Mia Mottley, says collective leadership, foresight, and partnership must be employed by the region to fight the new coronavirus (COVID 19).
Ms. Mottley was speaking at a special press conference in Barbados yesterday which brought together some heads of government, Caribbean Ministers of Health and their Chief Medical Officers.
Representatives from the Pan-American Health Organisation, the Caribbean Public Health Agency, the Caribbean Community Implementation Agency for Crime and Security and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency.
The special press conference followed a meeting of CARICOM leaders and health officials, due to reports of cases of coronavirus in the Dominican Republic, St. Bart’s and St. Marten.
