The Supreme Court is expected today to hear an application for leave to go to the Judicial Review Court to quash the criminal charges brought against former Minister of Education Ruel Reid and former head of the Caribbean Maritime University Professor Fritz Pinnock.
Attorney-At-Law Hugh Wildman who is representing the men, said the date for the application was set today.
Reid and Pinnock are contending that the Financial Investigation Division FID is not empowered to bring the charges against them.
Reid and Pinnock are among five persons facing charges in alleged multi million dollar corruption and fraudulent schemes perpetrated at the Ministry of Education and the Caribbean Maritime University.
They are on bail to return to the St. Andrew Parish Court on January 23 next year.
