Police have beefed up their presence in Steer Town and its environs in St. Ann after two residents were murdered at a beach in the nearby Mammee Bay community yesterday.
An illegal gun and several rounds of ammunition were recovered after the vehicle in which the alleged gunmen were travelling, crashed.
Police have identified the men killed, however their names have been withheld.
The Steer Town community remains tense as some residents are reportedly fearful of a flair up of violence in light of the double murder.
