Meek Mill is teaming up with Roc Nation to launch a full-on Dream Chasers label, furthering the vision for the brand that’s served as a Meek-operated imprint for mixtapes since 2012.

Roc Nation boss JAY-Z outlined the ambitions behind the partnership and said he believes everything Meek has done prior to this has proven he’s prepared to lead such a venture.

Furthermore, JAY says he sees the potential in Meek to not only keep making music of his own, but to also actively discover new talent.

The partnership was also marked with a new Gayle King interview during which JAY reiterated the importance of taking the responsibility that comes with his level of success and Meek praised JAY for carving out a path for younger artists.

As president, Meek will be putting together a team to assist in their goal of signing and developing artists with staying power.

Recording, strategy, marketing, and other typically out-sourced aspects of the creative process will be handled in-house.

Jay-Z reiterated the strength of their relationship and added that Meek’s upbringing and career experience, which are not dissimilar to his own, have illustrated how hip-hop artists “can carry this weight for the next generation.”

Meek, meanwhile, will continue dropping new music of his own via Maybach/Atlantic, with reports stating that he has “new content” on the agenda ahead of the kickoff of his and Future’s Legendary Nights Tour.

Also…The Pennsylvania Superior Court has thrown out Meek Mill’s 2008 conviction on drug and gun charges, granting the rapper a new trial and judge based on new evidence of alleged police corruption.

The unanimous three-judge opinion on Wednesday also overturned Philadelphia Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley’s parole violation ruling that resulted in Mill’s five-month prison stint in 2017.

In a statement, Mill wrote that he’s “ecstatic” about the outcome.

The rapper also shared a news report of the legal ordeal on Instagram, writing, “As of right now I’m not on probation and I am not a felon anymore. Today was mega!!!”
