There’s a Tropical Wave east of Jamaica.

Additionally, there is a Low-Level Jet Stream across the central Caribbean.

The Met Office says this Tropical Wave is expected to move across the island this afternoon.

Expect windy conditions to persist especially along the south coast and during the afternoons as the Low-Level Jet Stream remains across the central Caribbean.

A Low-Level Jet Stream is a relatively narrow band of strong wind in the low levels of the atmosphere.

This morning will be partly cloudy across sections of eastern parishes. It will also be windy along southern coastal areas.

This afternoon expect widely scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across central and western parishes.

Tonight will become fair.

A Small Craft Warning remains in effect for offshore areas of the south coast due to strong winds and rough seas.
