There’s a High Pressure Ridge across Jamaica.

Additionally, there is a Low-Level Jet Stream across the central Caribbean.

The Met Office says this High Pressure Ridge and the Low-Level Jet Stream will remain across the island today.

Friday morning, expect a Tropical Wave to move across the island. The Ridge will then quickly re-build by late Friday evening.

The Ridge and the Low-Level Jet Stream will remain across the island into the weekend. Expect windy conditions to persist across the island

A Low-Level Jet Stream is a relatively narrow band of strong wind in the low levels of the atmosphere.

This morning will be partly cloudy across sections of eastern parishes.

This afternoon will also be partly cloudy mainly across hilly inland areas.

Tonight will be Fair and windy.

A Small Craft Warning remains in effect for offshore areas of the south coast due to strong winds and rough seas.

Maximum temperature expected for Kingston and Montego Bay today is 34 degrees Celsius.
