Jamaican social media personality and voice actor, Consie who is also known as Crime Minister is trending after he called out Stefflon Don for allegedly not paying him for his contribution to her debut album.
Consie took to social media to voice his frustration after allegedly not receiving the payments promised as well as “signing away his rights” not to receive any royalties for his contribution.
Crime Minister claims that “Hurtin' Me” singer’s team sent him a lengthy contract to sign, and alleges that he was tricked into signing over his rights to his contribution instead of signing for his royalties.
According to Crime Minister, he did some voiceovers for Stefflon’s “Island 54” album and is owed money for his voiceover on Don’s track “Top Toppa”.
Following his posts going viral, Consie took to his social media again to give an update. In those posts, he said that he was contacted by members of Stefflon’s team and they were shocked that he had not received payment yet and that he would receive payment today (September 17).
Earlier today, Consie shared screenshots of payment received to his account.
The voice actor also encouraged people to still stream the English rapper’s album and that he learnt his lesson, as reading is fundamental.
Stefflon’s “Island 54” was released on June 28, 2024.
