STATE FUNERAL FOR EDWARD SEAGA

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has indicated that in accordance with state protocol, arrangements are already being made to have the body of former Prime Minister Edward Seaga, flown back to Jamaica.

Seaga passed away this afternoon.

He had been receiving medical treatment at a facility in the United States of America, after his health deteriorated earlier this month.

He celebrated his 89th birthday today.

Members of Parliament today observed a moment of silence in memory of the late Seaga.

In making tribute, Holness said Seaga will be given a state funeral.
