REGGAE GIRLZ LEAVE ISLAND FOR 2019 WORLD CUP AFTER WRAPPING UP 3-1 WIN OVER PANAMA

Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz have now departed the island where they will kick off the final leg their journey to the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

This after they defeated Panama 3-1 in their international friendly match at the National Stadium in Kingston last evening.

The talented Khadija Shaw scored the first goal in the 28th minute and another in the second half.

Natalia Mills pulled one back for the visitors in the 64th minute, but Shakira Duncan sealed the win for the Girlz in the 73rd minute

The match was a farewell for the Reggae Girlz before the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France from June 7 to July 7.

The Girlz will open their campaign against Brazil on June 9, before facing Australia and Italy.

In the meantime, several Jamaican entertainers will take to the field in support of the Reggae Girlz as they make their historic journey to the World Cup in France.

The celebrities, who include Christopher Martin, Lukie D, Tony Curtis, Papa San, Agent Sasco will play at Ansin Sports Complex in Florida on Thursday.

Football veterans Ricardo “Bibi” Gardner and Ian “Pepe” Goodison will also join forces with the entertainers.

The event is part of the Reggae Girlz World Cup send-off and fun day celebration in south Florida.
