National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says there are signs that human traffickers are involved in the attacks on young girls. According to Dr. Chang, human traffickers have taken route in the Caribbean and is growing.

Three schoolgirls have been killed in recent weeks and several others reported missing. 17-year-old Stefika Smith, a student of May Pen high in Clarendon is the latest victim. Her body was found with several bruises and the throat slashed on Monday.

On April 16, the body of 8-year-old SHANTE SKYERS was found in Sterling Castle, St. Andrew, while 11-year-old Trisha Morris of Watford Hill Primary in Hanover was killed on April 30.

They were all reported missing and later found dead. Dr. Chang says that while he cannot confirm that these three schoolgirls and others before them are victims of human trafficking, this issue is cause for concern.
