Traffic signals at a number of busy intersections in the Corporate Area are now out of service due to power outage, stemming from strike action at the Jamaica Public Service JPS.

The National Works Agency NWA is therefore advising motorists to proceed with caution.

Senior Communications Officer at the NWA, Ramona Lawson, in a statement a short while ago reminded that under the circumstances, no one has the right of way. She further advised motorists to stop on approach of junctions that are currently without functioning traffic lights.

The power failure is currently affecting a number of signalized intersections in Half-Way-Tree, Papine, along Hope and Old Hope Roads, Trafalgar and Waterloo Roads.

The NWA said signals can only be restored, following the reinstatement of power supply.
