Jamaica Music Society (JAMMS) is aiming to become the first Jamaican collecting society for artistes and musicians.

In an interview with the Zee, General Manager of JAMMS, Evon Mullings said the company is currently representing record producers but is working on expanding its services to artistes and musicians.

Jamaica Association of Composers Authors and Publishers Limited (JACAP) is another collecting society in Jamaica but only represents Songwriters, Composers and Publishers as its name states. Currently, local artistes have to register with overseas collecting societies like either UK based Phonographic Performances limited (PPL) or American based Sound Exchange for the collection of music royalties.
