Some promoters are speaking out against the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation, the KSAMC, for what they say is the ‘unfair’ move to put a hold on permits for parties to be held in their New Kingston parking lots.

The decision was revealed last week, following which Town Clerk Robert Hill tells the Zee that the decision to halt permits rests squarely on promoters not cleaning up the areas after their events and New Kingston already has a major rat infestation problem.

One promoter who regularly stages events in the parking lots, notes the unfairness of the situation.

He also said that receipts for clean-up crew have to be presented to the KSAC before permits are granted.

Meanwhile, another party promoter agrees that the move by the KSAMC is harsh, especially ahead of the busy Easter holidays.
