OVER 200 ASSORTED ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION SEIZED IN ST. CATHERINE

Police Officers in Kingston Western and the St. Catherine South divisions rid the nation’s street of a firearm and over 200 hundred assorted rounds of ammunition on Tuesday, April 2.

Reports are that about 11:50 a.m., the Denham Town Police conducted an operation in search of wanted men and illegal weapons when they reportedly saw a man running from a building. He escaped, however, the dwelling was searched and a Browning 9mm pistol and thirteen rounds of ammunition were found.

And, about 1:00 p.m., the Fugitive Apprehension Team were in Big Lane, Central Village in St. Catherine when they reportedly observed two men, one of whom dropped a bag and ran. The bag was retrieved and searched and seventy 9mm rounds and one hundred and forty-three .38 rounds of ammunition were found.

No one was arrested in connection with the seizures.

Investigations are ongoing.
