A fire that was started at the Riverton City Landfill off Spanish Town Road in St Andrew this morning has been contained.
According to Executive Director at the National Solid Waste Management Authority, NSWMA, Audley Gordon, residual smoke is however still affecting some areas.
He noted that firefighters are currently covering the area to reduce the smoke
The fire started about 10am in a confined area of the dump.
