Sales drop for Michael Jackson following ‘Leaving Neverland’ docu-series

HBO’s two-part documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’ has Michael Jackson’s sales, streaming numbers, and radio airplay dropping since its premiere.

The four-hour documentary shares allegations of two men who claim Jackson sexually assaulted them during their childhood and has many fans reconsidering the legacy of the King of Pop.

According to #Billboard, Jackson’s combined album and song sales dropped 5% after the documentary’s premiere.

His album sales dropped 39%, and his on-demand streams fell by 10 million. Radio airplay is getting the brunt of the force, where some DJs have committed to not playing Jackson’s music anymore.

His radio airplay has fallen by 13% since the ‘Neverland’ airing.
