In a recent sit-down with Seani B, dancehall star Skillibeng opened up about his musical influences and the artists he respects in the industry.
If you can recall, a few months ago, the "Crocodile Teeth" singer was asked to list his top five dancehall artistes. Alongside himself, Skillibeng named Vybz Kartel, Aidonia, Masicka, and Alkaline as his top picks.
During the 40-minute interview on Seani B’s show This Is Bruk Out, Skillibeng discussed his approach to music, mentioning that rather than engaging in confrontations with critics who once labelled him a one-hit wonder, he explained how he used music to prove them wrong.
He mentioned that he considers Alkaline to be a very lyrical and versatile artiste.
In addition to reflecting on his musical style, Skillibeng touched on his growing international recognition, the difference in reception between Jamaica and overseas, and his admiration for Vybz Kartel.
