Gabrielle Henry Files Lawsuit against Miss Universe

Share

Well, the Miss Universe drama isn’t over just yet! Former Miss Universe Jamaica Dr. Gabrielle Henry is taking the Miss Universe Organisation to court, nearly a year after her shocking fall from the pageant stage in Thailand.
Henry has filed a lawsuit claiming she fell about five feet through an uncovered opening in the stage while following rehearsed choreography during the preliminary competition. She alleges the fall left her with serious brain injuries, a lengthy hospital stay and ongoing neurological issues that have prevented her from returning to her medical residency.
But here’s where things get even more interesting:  the Beauty Queen also claims bright stage lighting affected her visibility and that other contestants had raised concerns about the staging conditions. The lawsuit names both the Miss Universe Organisation and Miss Grand International, which was involved in producing the event.
The Miss Universe Organisation says it hasn’t received the lawsuit and therefore can’t comment on the claims, but says it covered Henry’s medical expenses and later offered her a goodwill ambassador role.
Miss Grand International, meanwhile, has previously said Henry missed her blocking and may not have been looking at the runway, while insisting that no one blamed her for the fall.
Ziptocrats we will keep you updated on the happenings, stay tuned!
